Caryn Portnoy:

Hi everyone, and welcome to the music of Life. I'm your host. Karen Portnoy, before I get into this episode, please comment, ask questions, share some of your experiences, and don't forget to subscribe. You music. Someone asked me if I would talk about this total lunar eclipse that we just had yesterday, on Thursday, March 13. And although I don't consider myself an expert on moon cycles and astrology and all of that. I do know some things, and I've experienced some things, and although I'll be reading some things from Google and other media sources, I'll sprinkle in my own thoughts and comments throughout, just to just to add my own thing. So the lunar eclipse is also called the Blood Moon, and for anyone who does or doesn't know that each month in the calendar has its own name of each moon. So the Blood Moon for March, it happens when the sun the Earth and the Moon are positioned so that the full moon passes through the darkest part of the Earth's shadow called the umbra, which could make the moon look red orange. That was from Google. So here from New York, the Blood Moon was not really easy to see because it was too cloudy, and it was also passing through the Earth and the Sun late at night. So I think it was like 1:26am, was when the Eclipse began. Full totality was between 2:26am, and 331, it

ended at 4:

32am, and that was it. So that was that was the main Eclipse. From what I understand, though, the energy leading up to and leaving can be up to three days before the Eclipse and three days after the Eclipse. So there are certain energies and emotions and things going on that people kind of tune into the moon for the full moon, which is a time of culmination and release is expected to bring heightened emotions, a push for clarity and an opportunity to let go of what no longer serves you, while also encouraging you to focus on your needs and self care. That's also from Google a more detailed explanation. So with the culmination and release, full moons are often seen as times of completion and release, encouraging you to finalize projects. Let go of old patterns and make space for new beginnings. Regarding heightened emotions, the full moon can amplify emotions, potentially bringing up strong feelings, both positive and negative. Regarding clarity and insight, the full moon's illumination can provide clarity and insight into your life, helping you see things more clearly and make better decisions. With self care and needs, it's recommended to focus on your needs and engage in self care activities to support your well being during this powerful lunar phase. I can speak to this myself, because anytime there's a full moon, I typically take one of my baths where I focus my intentions on letting go of everything that no longer serves me, and only bring in things that are for my highest good, things like that. So it's very powerful. I have to say, grounding is also really great to do for self care. You know, walk outside in the grass and the dirt and barefoot, go hug a tree things like that. Being out in nature is really great, even if you're sitting outside and just sitting in a chair looking up at the moon. I mean, that's considered in nature as well. So when you set your intentions based on the full moon's energy, you focus on the future, focusing on what you want to release and what you want to create, regarding communication and negotiation, the energy of the full moon can be helpful for communicating your needs and finding solutions to current issues. So what should you not do during the full moon? Most definitely, you should not whine. You should not think about negative things. Avoid complaining and keep every negative thought away concentrating on negativity and creating it, which means talking about it destroys your aura field during the full moons ultra fast. So what should. Do instead, take a moon bath. What is a moon bath? You ask? Well, exactly what I just said to sit outside in a chair or wherever, and just bask in the moon's glow, and however long you could stay there for a while, will be more helpful as time goes on, but it's it's incredibly healing and relaxing and wonderful. You can also journal. You can charge any crystals. If you're into crystals, you could just keep them out overnight. You know, sitting in the moonlight, by charging it, it means that it's clearing out whatever energy is on the crystal. Reach out to your family, honor your ancestors, meditate and treat yourself. I'm not much of a journaler, per se, but I do meditate. I do treat myself all kinds of ways of self care. I was actually planning on taking a moon bath tonight, so I'm looking forward now that the weather is a little bit warmer, to sitting outside and just basking in the glow of the moon. I'll charge some crystals out there with me as well. It's also great to submerge yourself in water during a full moon, not just to cleanse, but also, you know you're you feel more into the flow of the energy. So this is why I take baths during the full moons, because I don't know the energy is just more heightened. And for those of you who are into manifesting, how do you manifest during a full moon? So you can spend a moment thinking about what you want to release and what you want to attract. Take a piece of paper and jot down the things that you'd like to manifest over the next month, place the wish list somewhere special, like a box or a jar, and then put it outside to soak up the moonlight. How do you cleanse yourself on a full moon so clear some space meditation could start a gratitude journal, smudging with sage, which is one of my favorite things to do. I use the bundles of White Sage, and it's a great way to clear a space of the energy that's there. I sage myself. It's great. You can get it on Amazon. You can look up on Google. You know what prayers or meditations or mantras, you can say as you're smudging, but you can feel the shift in energy from before and after you sage. So it's really great. You can light candles. You can charge crystals, you can dance to release some energy and, like move it out of your body. So what does the full moon energy feel like? As the moon reaches its fullest potential, its energy intensifies, and so does ours. Our emotions may amplify and our desires become clearer. This heightened energetic state opens up a window of opportunity for us to manifest our deepest intentions and aspirations. Someone asked, Why am I so emotional today about the moon? While there's no scientific consensus that the moon directly causes heightened emotions, some people feel more emotional during certain lunar phases, and this could be due to a combination of factors like stress hormones or personal events, rather than lunar influence. Another thing during full moons is about embracing change. This is a time to be open to change and new beginnings as the energy encourages us to move forward and evolve. Eclipses are times of release and truth telling urging us to confront and release the past, even if it's difficult, expect emotions to be amplified, potentially leading to intense feelings from passion and excitement to annoyance, and again, I would really focus during these times. If you seem to be sensitive to these types of swings in emotions and intensity, be kind to yourself and just chill do things that calm you down, whatever that I mean, that'll be different for everybody. Today, I had a massage, and it was wonderful. That's always usually part of my self care routine, but on a day like today, where the energy is is intensified, it was especially calming and especially relaxing and and and wonderful. I drank a lot of decaf herbal tea, so I drank more tea today than usual. It's whatever really just soothes your soul and calms you down. So you know, each person can find what works for them. But these are just suggestions. There are many calming apps out there that you can. Listen to while you go to sleep. There's a bunch on YouTube. I know the comm app. I would definitely recommend not sleeping near your phone. I'm guilty of doing that, but tonight I'm going to practice not doing that. There are plenty of pictures taken of me holding my phone while I'm sleeping, so I'm going to try not to do that tonight. One of the beautiful things about full moons is that, unlike the solar eclipse, you can stare right at it without hurting your eyes or anything. And it's just the peace in in darkness, just having the moon illuminating the sky, it's so it's so beautiful. It's also very romantic. I'm really looking forward to having my moon bath later. It was an interesting article from sensory land talking about the incredible power of harnessing the energy of the full moon to manifest. Our emotions may amplify and our desires become clearer. This heightened energetic state opens up a window of opportunity for us to manifest our deepest intentions and aspirations. Oh, this sounds cool. If you're manifesting during a full moon, surround yourself in sound, playing a moon playlist of music to help you amplify and manifest will add positive energy to the ritual. Ensure that you choose music that is created with love and positivity, sound healing with crystal singing bowls can help you amplify your intentions. I don't know if you guys have ever done anything with singing bowls, but it is so fun and so cool. And I love them. You can look up healing sound baths in your area and maybe go, go and check it out. It's really It's really wonderful. I love this too. A gratitude ceremony before concluding your manifestation ritual express gratitude for the abundance that is already present in your life. Thank the universe for the opportunity to manifest your desires and trust in its divine timing. Feel immense gratitude filling your heart knowing that the full moon's energy has aligned with your intentions. I think this is probably the most important thing trusting the process. Remember, manifesting is a process that requires patience and trust and performing your full moon manifestation ritual, keep an open mind and remain receptive to the universe's signs and guidance. Opportunities will arise. Synchronicities will occur, and the path to your desires will unfold before you. Harnessing the energy of the full moon to manifest is a beautiful and empowering practice that connects us to the rhythms of nature and aligns us with our deepest desires. So the next time the full moon graces the sky, embrace its energy, set your intentions and watch as the universe conspires to bring your dreams into reality.
