The Music of Life
Celebrating Milestones: 50 Episodes of Growth
Hey everyone, I can hardly believe it – this is my 50th episode of The Music of Life! As I sat down to record, I found myself reflecting on how much has unfolded since that very first episode nearly a year ago. This milestone felt like the perfect moment to pause, express my gratitude, and share something a little extra special.
In this episode, I dive into the powerful energy of November’s Full Beaver Moon – the brightest supermoon of the year – and the rituals and manifestations that can align with this celestial moment. I also talk about how vulnerability is a true measure of courage, and how showing up authentically has been the heart of this podcast journey for me. I’ve got some exciting updates to share about what’s coming next for Season Three – including guests(!) – so don’t miss it!

Karen, hi everyone, and welcome to the music of Life. I'm your host. Karen Portnoy, before I get into this episode, please comment, ask questions, share some of your experiences, and don't forget to subscribe. Hi everyone. I just wanted to say I can't believe this is for real, but this is officially my 50th episode of this podcast. We are two days away from a year ago. It was, I believe, November 7 of last year that I launched this podcast and had my very first episode, and now I'm at episode 50, and wow, I'm so proud of myself. I'm so happy that all of you have listened and continue to listen, and I'm just so stoked about the whole thing. So thank you for being here, for being interested in this content and for being a loyal listener. So thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I also wanted to mention that, since today is November 5, it's the full Super Moon, the beaver moon in November, which is the second super moon of the year, and I believe it's the brightest of them from all year. So I just wanted to commemorate the beaver moon with just some fun information about it. I think that I might have mentioned something last year about this also. So what is the beaver moon, and what's the significance of it, spiritually. Why is it called the beaver moon? So according to the old Farmers Almanac, which began publishing Full Moon names in 1930s it says that the beaver Moon got its name because this is the time of year when beavers take shelter in their lodges after gathering food for the winter, which makes sense. There are some rituals and manifestations to try during this beaver moon, if you're so inclined, I'm not going to read each of the zodiac signs according to the to the beaver moon, but it kind of like gives a little breakdown for each sign, like what to manifest and what to aspire to, I guess, some rituals of manifestations to try during The Beaver Moon across many ancient cultures and faiths, people have long celebrated celestial cycles, using the full moon as a time to reflect release and set new intentions. Astrologers say the full moon's energy can be especially powerful for manifesting your dreams, because this beaver moon falls in Taurus, in earth sign, it's recommended to incorporate natural elements into your rituals, utilizing plants, gemstones, soil and other natural things can work well to manifest what you seek, since Taurus is also associated with wealth and abundance, Creating an altar focused on finances by using green candles. Taurus is ruled by Venus. So if you'd like to try to attract romance or increase love, use a pink candle. Write your desires either on the candle or on a piece of paper, and then burn the candle on top of it, but make sure that you never leave the candle burning by itself, unattended anyway. That's just some fun facts about the beaver moon. I did manifest a bunch of things last year. There are a couple of moons that I took advantage of at that time, but I don't always do it every month or with every every moon, but I do like to take advantage of super moons, they're just more potent. So as soon as I finish this episode, I'm going to go outside and I'm going to sit and look at the moon and see what I see. And if I don't see anything, I'm just going to enjoy the energy and make my manifestations. You I did a Tiktok earlier about how we can measure how courageous we are based on how vulnerable we are. Like there's a direct correlation there. And I think it's really interesting because, you know, being vulnerable is so scary, and so many people try to avoid it, you know, like the plague, but it really does show us just how courageous we can be when we can be vulnerable. I know that the word authenticity keeps getting thrown away. Around, left, right, in every which way. But maybe a cousin to authenticity is vulnerability. Because, you know, we still have to show up and show who we are, and the more we are vulnerable, the more people get to really see exactly who we are. So I think I want to tie that into the fact that this is my 50th episode, because I I would like to think that I've been so authentic and vulnerable in this podcast just sharing, you know, the pain of my divorce and all that went with that, and then the joy of healing and all that went with that too. And I just kind of want to celebrate that, because I've really tried to show up for all of you in terms of being my my truest and most real self. So I appreciate that you all have embraced that by following this podcast, and I guess I'm going to go into Season Three very shortly. Just want to let you know that I'm going to be welcoming some some guests on my podcast a couple times a month, just to kind of bring some, some life into different episodes, on different topics, and, you know, just to mix it up a little and and all of that. So if you have any questions, if you have any suggestions or feedback or anything that you want to share with me, I would love to hear it. You know, I I love showing up every week for you guys, and I hope that this content really resonates with you.
